This page is intended for CPI and CPS caseworkers whose cases fall within the intersection of domestic violence and child abuse and neglect. We look forward to collaborating with you to make our community a safer place. Below is information about resources available to CPS-involved clients and the impact that it can have on their life and their child's/children's lives. TIPS BEFORE YOU MAKE A REFERRAL

  • If you have immediate safety concerns for your client, please contact the Safer Path Hotline at 830-569-2001. Victims we serve: Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Human Trafficking, Stalking, Teen Dating Violence
  • Please note, when providing SPFVS with a "safe number" that means you have spoken with this client and have verified that it is a safe number and it is safe to leave a voicemail with a SPFVS employee identifying themselves and our agency.  
  • Inform the client ahead of time that SPFVS will call them from a blocked/unknown number and will leave a voicemail with our contact information.
  • Anyone referred to ADVANCE should have a partner referred to BIPP
  • Talk with them about creating a domestic violence safety plan
  • Hold the abusive partner accountable with your wording

ABOUT ADVANCE

ADVANCE | Acknowledging Domestic Violence and Navigating Child-Protection Effectively

ADVANCE is a great program for clients that CPS believes could be a survivor of domestic violence. It is a 7-week psycho-educational group, in addition to an orientation, created for CPS-involved clients to address issues faced by domestic violence and the impact that domestic violence has on children. A client does not have to complete an intake appointment or access other services at SPFVS to participate in ADVANCE.

If you need help, set up an intake appointment to speak with an advocate by calling our 24- hour hotline @ 830-569-2001. If this is an emergency please call 911.


Although clients with open CPS cases may seek SPFVS services on their own, this form must be received prior to an appointment for referred clients to participate in ADVANCE.
